Release of the action role-playing game probably not until 2022

According to original plans, the action role-playing game Path of Exile 2 should actually be released later this year. But the fans seem to have to be patient a little longer. Because the current corona pandemic has caused some delays during production at the New Zealand studio Grinding Gear Games. This comes from an interview by PC Gamer magazine with Chris Wilson, the head of the studio.

"I hate to blame COVID for something, but now it's a big part of it. We struggled to hire international talent as the borders with New Zealand are tight. This has hampered the growth of our asset creation team a little. Development is not progressing as fast as we planned, so our goal is to work as hard as possible on Path of Exile 2 in 2021 and see how much it progresses. We want as much as possible. That should then make it easier for us to provide a useful estimate for the release date, which should be towards the end of the year. "

Path of Exile 2: 14-minute gameplay shows what is new in the action RPG

Chris Wilson immediately confirmed the magazine's question whether this ultimately means that Path of Exile 2 will probably only be launched in 2022. However, there should certainly be more tangible details about the new action role-playing game in the course of the next few weeks and months. You can of course find these immediately in our news section.

We give all readers daily free news, articles, guides, videos and podcasts on their favorite games.
