Have you always been annoyed that you could only swap your Pokémon in Pokémon Go within a radius of 100 meters with your friends? Then try the remote trade until November 16, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. CET, which is activated by then. There is no official information on the range; Most Pokémon Go players speak of a 10km radius around your avatar.

The creators of Pokémon Go have announced another test, in which they want to let the players of the pocket monster collecting game participate, and then activated it immediately. While the adjusted XP values as part of the XP balance test are only available for a few selected trainers worldwide for testing until November 16, 2020, all Pokémon players are allowed to use the limited-time test of an increased exchange range, i.e. quasi remote trades Go join. These increased exchange ranges have been active since November 12, 2020 at 11:30 p.m. and will remain so until November 16, 2020 at 7:00 p.m.

However, the developers at Niantic do not reveal how much the exchange range has been increased. In return, however, they promise to decide, based on the results and the feedback on the test, whether "long-distance trading" will be activated in the future as part of certain events. So don't get your hopes too high that the increased exchange range will be permanently active.

On Reddit the Pokémon Go community TheSilphRoad a wide variety of information about the scope of the trades can be read. While some players speak of successful trades over a distance of twelve kilometers, the range is most often estimated at ten kilometers. This is of course a radius around the swapping trainer, as the crow flies. The exchange with a fan on the other side of the globe is of course not possible. But at least it should be possible to swap within the same city – of course, only if the city is not super big, d'oh.
