According to current rumors, Capcom has started developing a remake of Resident Evil 4. This time, however, an external studio will be responsible for the project. The new team was able to gain some experience with Resident Evil 3. The release is currently scheduled for 2022.

Capcom officials seem to have already commissioned Resident Evil's next remake. After Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 released two weeks ago, it is now supposed to be Resident Evil 4, which was commercially available for the first time in 2005. According to a report by VGC, the release is currently planned for 2022. This time, however, it will no longer be an internal Capcom team, but a newly founded studio that will be responsible for the project.

It is M-Two from Osaka, Japan. The remake of Resident Evil 4 will be headed by Tatsuya Minami, who was most recently known as the CEO of PlatinumGames. The team has been preparing for the new edition since 2018. Capcom will probably support the new studio with its own resources during the development. Shinji Mikami (Game Director of the Original) also agrees to the remake. However, he declined an offer to lead the project himself. However, he is said to have already given some advice.

A look at Metacritic shows that Resident Evil 4 remains the highest rated Capcom game ever. On average, the title scored a total of 96 out of 100 points. Over 7.5 million units have been sold in recent years. And next year fans with Resident Evil will also receive 8 new supplies. The successor is said to appear in retail in 2021. Just last week, new rumors surfaced here that should provide further details about the horror game by Capcom.
