The restrictions posed by the global pandemic do not stop at the mega-corporation Disney, many productions stand still, releases are postponed. However, the release of the second season of The Mandalorian is said to be unaffected.

In the meantime, German customers of Disney + were able to watch the first season of The Mandalorian in full. The first live-action series in the Star Wars cosmos had already been well received in the USA, which the people in charge had suspected before it was broadcast: Immediately after the completion of season 1, the makers of the second season dedicated themselves . This approach is currently paying off. Because Bob Chapek, the CEO of Disney has in an interview with CNBC clarified: "The Mandalorian was shot before Covid really met us, so we were already in post-production, there will be no delay for The Mandalorian."

Filming of Mandalorian's second season ended in March

On Instagram, Gina Carano (Cara Dune in the series) announced the end of the shoot in March 2020 with a photo of the set. Thus, the work on the second season of The Mandalorian ended shortly before the big impact of corona measures. So nothing stands in the way of the release in October 2020.

Disney + is missing new series because of Corona

The The Mandalorian is doing much better than other Disney + series. For example, filming of the Marvel productions "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" (was due to start in August), "Wanda Vision" and "Loki" had to be interrupted due to Corona restrictions. In this way, the Disney streaming service lacks valuable new series that attract additional customers or ensure that existing subscribers do not drop the service again.
