Seasons shifted for Modern Warfare & Warzone

from André Linken
The start of the new season in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty Warzone is a bit of a wait. Activision Blizzard and the developer studio Infinity Ward decided to postpone it at short notice. The reason for this is the current protests in the USA and the commitment of the "Black Lives Matter" movement:

Actually should be no later than June 4, 2020 the starting shot for the new seasons in the first person shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and the Battle Royale offshoot Call of Duty Warzone are given. But the publisher Activision Blizzard and the developer studio Infinity Ward have decided to postpone the event.

The reason for this is the current protests in the USA around the "Black Lives Matter" movement, which flared up after the gruesome incident with the colored US citizen George Floyd and are currently causing indignation but also unity worldwide. Activision Blizzard and Infinity Ward show solidarity with the movement and the associated protests and therefore postpone the start of the season for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty Warzone (buy now) and Call of Duty Mobile. The tweet says:

"While we look forward to playing the new seasons of Modern Warfare, Warzone and Call of Duty Mobile, this is not the right time. We're postponing the launch of Season 4 for Modern Warfare and Season 7 for Call of Duty Mobile a later date. Now is the time to let those who are committed to equality, justice and change be heard and seen. We stand by your side. "

A similar campaign was recently launched by Sony Interactive Entertainment, the have postponed the PlayStation 5 event planned for this week due to the recent protests. A new date for the aforementioned seasons has not yet been set. We will of course keep you up to date in this regard.
