A Konami spokesman commented on the rumors of new games in the Silent Hill series. However, according to him, these reports are not true. The company is said to have not yet completed the franchise. No new offshoot of the horror title has been released for almost eight years. In 2015, the last major project was stopped with Silent Hills.
A few days ago, there were rumors on the Internet that several Silent Hill projects were under development. Sony managers in particular played a major role here, who are said to be working with the Sony Japan team on a soft reboot of the series. A comeback by Silent Hills with Hideo Kojima and his team at Kojima Productions was also discussed. In the United States, a spokesman for Konami has now spoken about the rumors. Accordingly, fans will probably have to wait for a new part of Silent Hill.
"We have heard the rumors and reports, but can confirm that they are not true. I know this is not the answer fans want to hear."
In an earlier email to the team behind the Rely on Horror's website It was also said that Konami has not completed the franchise – but is not working on the way it is rumored to be. In 2012, Silent Hill: Book of Memories, the last offshoot for PlayStation Vita, was released. Three years later, Silent Hills was shut down after disputes between Konami and Kojima Productions. Just last week, other rumors about Konami's brands surfaced that Sony was interested in buying the IPs from Castlevania, Metal Gear, and Silent Hill. There is no confirmation here.
