Since the launch of Returnal exactly two weeks ago, many players have wanted a save option with which they can pause their current run in order to be able to continue there at a later point in time.

The Housemarque team has heard feedback from the players and is already actively working on a solution. In an interview with Mikael Haveri of the developer studio, it is said that Housemarque would like to publish a corresponding solution for the new PS5 title as soon as possible. The problem: Even Housemarque is not quite sure what the best idea for it could be. Because Returnal is a roguelike shooter, the risk of losing your progress at any time is a major attraction for the title. At the moment, players are using the PS5’s sleep mode to save their current run in a roundabout way. But even here there can be some difficulties every now and then.

We’ll keep you posted as soon as Housemarque reveals new details about an update. In our review of Returnal, we took a detailed look at the roguelike shooter. Despite the criticism of the lack of a save option, the game received high ratings from the international press. Returnal is currently one of the few titles available exclusively for PS5. Next month, Sony and Insomniac Games will be releasing the next exclusive title, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.
