The rumors have – almost – come true. Sony has actually announced a PS5 conference for the coming week. However, the day previously suspected was incorrect.
Gaming journalist Jason Schreier recently stated that Sony is holding a conference around the coming week PS5 plans. According to his information, it should be ready on June 3. He was only just off the mark.
We finally learn more!
As Sony announced on the official Twitter channel, the conference on Playstation 5 will take place on Thursday June 4th at 1:00 PM (PDT). It is at 10 p.m. in the evening. Sony says the event gives a glimpse into the future of gaming on Playstation 5. In the short video you can see the DualSense controller of the upcoming console – but completely in black.
What exactly is shown is not yet clear. One can only assume that Sony shows some of the games of the PS5 and maybe also presents the console itself. However, it is uncertain whether we will get a price and an exact launch date for the PS5. The event is likely to be very exciting. Because if Sony should name the price of the Playstation 5, Microsoft could follow suit soon after with the announcement of the price for the Xbox Series X.
It should also be exciting which games Sony shows. Will it be PS5 exclusive titles? For some time now, there have been many rumors about a Horizon: Zero Dawn 2 and a reboot to Silent Hill are said to be planned as the launch title of the next-gen console. For some, the game line-up will definitely be a decisive factor whether and when they buy the PS5.
"We'll be giving you a sneak preview of the games you'll be playing during the holidays after Playstation 5 launches," said Jim Ryan, President and CEO of Sony. "The games for PS5 represent the best in the industry and come from innovative studios around the world. Both larger and smaller studios, newer and more established developers have worked hard to develop games that demonstrate the potential of the hardware."
So it won't be long before we finally learn more about Playstation 5. The following week will be on June 4th at 10 p.m. The event should last over an hour.
