Sony apologizes for pre-order chaos

The PS5 pre-order start did not go as planned: gamers were surprised by the short-term announcement and many were unable to pre-order a console. Sony has now responded to the bumpy pre-sale start of the PlayStation 5.

Sony finally announced the price and release date of the console in the PS5 showcase on September 16 – and the PlayStation 5 could be pre-ordered shortly afterwards. Yes, because the communication around the start of pre-orders for the PS5 extremely misleading and online shops have collapsed due to the great demand, many gamers went away empty-handed.

In a tweet, Sony has now admitted that the pre-sale start of the PlayStation 5 went anything but smooth and apologizes for the circumstances. The company also announced that more pre-orders will be possible in the next few days. No detailed information was given, but if you haven't been able to pre-order the PS5, you will hopefully get another chance soon. Pre-order PS5: These online shops offer the PlayStation 5

The PS5 will appear in Germany on November 19th, according to Sony – in North America, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand the console will be available one week in advance on November 12th. The PlayStation 5 can be pre-ordered in two different versions: The All Digital Edition costs 399 euros and comes without a disc drive, while the version with a “4K Bluray” drive costs 499 euros.

The The following online shops have both versions of the PS5 in their range. Due to the great demand, both the All Digital Edition and the version with the disc drive are currently out of stock. However, it is to be expected that the PlayStation 5 will be made available again and again at times over the next few days. So it is definitely worth keeping an eye on the following offer pages:

When the situation with regard to the PS5 pre-orders will relax a bit, it is not yet in sight. Current therefore you have to be particularly vigilant and quickas soon as the console is available again from the dealers.

Pre-order PlayStation 5: Sold out after Sony's announcement

The The PS5 pre-order phase started at midnight on September 17th, but the online shops collapsed after a short time due to the demand. Unsurprisingly, this caused great disappointments in the gaming community, after all, a great run on the console could be assumed – but the chaos could not be prevented. By the morning of the same day, the console quotas were already exhausted.

Unfortunately, there is currently nothing left but to wait and see how Sony will solve the situation in cooperation with the dealers. However, based on comparable situations in the past, it can be expected that smaller contingents will gradually be made available over the next few days. So you don't have to give up hope of pre-ordering the PS5 just yet.
