Sony officials confirmed their plans for mobile games for well-known PlayStation brands at a strategy meeting. As early as April, rumors about this topic made the rounds because Sony was looking for a “Head of Mobile” for PlayStation in a job advertisement.
“We thought about how gamers enjoy our content and we had early success with our experiments in mobile games and apps that give gamers more choice. Mobile is just one of the areas we’re exploring to reach millions of gamers across our platforms. PlayStation has a large catalog of various first party IPs that can be made for smartphone gaming that would expand our AAA and live service games. We are exploring the mobile market with some wonderful PlayStation -Franchises – be patient. ” – says Jim Ryan (President / Sony Interactive Entertainment).
Those responsible have not revealed which brands are currently in focus. Sony’s first-party IPs include well-known brands like Uncharted, The Last of Us, God of War, Ratchet & Clank, Gran Turismo, and many more. With PlayStation Mobile, Sony already owns a publishing label for titles such as Uncharted: Fortune Hunter, Run Sackboy! Run! or several PlayLink games – including Hidden Agenda and Erica – was last responsible. We’ll keep you up to date if Sony reveals more details about the mobile offensive.
