The PlayStation 5 event, which was scheduled to take place in a few days, was postponed until further notice – Sony has now announced that. There are currently "more important voices" that should be heard.

PlayStation 5

On May 29, Sony announced it The Future of GamingEvent. The company revealed that this would include "more than an hour" revelations for the PS5 and focus specifically on next-generation games. Something that Sony has kept well under lock and key, even if one or the other information was already dropped.

The event was originally scheduled to take place on June 4, 2020, but fans will now have to be patient.

We have to wait a bit until the design of the PS5 is revealed – but this is what it could look like.

The gaming world also shows sympathy

On the official Twitter account Sony announced that they have decided to postpone the planned event until further notice. This is probably related to the nationwide protests in the United States that were triggered by George Floyd's murder in Minneapolis last week. It says:

“We decided to postpone the PlayStation 5 event planned for June 4th. While we understand that players around the world are looking forward to seeing PS5 games, we don't think it's time to celebrate. For now we want to hold back and let more important voices have their say. ”

It is not yet known when the event will be rescheduled. We'll keep you up to date.
