Sony releases the first "free" game for PS5 as a download

With the PS5, the release of the new Sony console is imminent: The launch will take place on November 19th in Germany. PS Plus members can secure a "free" game for the market launch – Bugsnax is available for download ready. Anyone who is a member of the online service can now combine the colorful adventure in the PS5 version with their PSN profile – and start playing on the PlayStation 5 release day. Unlike the usual PS Plus titles, Bugsnax doesn't just give you a month to grab the full version. The adventure will be included in the PlayStation Plus lineup until January 5, 2021.

We have included a gameplay trailer for Bugsnax on PS5 below this message. Since last week, the two PS4 games have also been available for download via PS Plus, which will be included for all subscribers in November. Players will receive the full versions of Middle-earth: Shadow of War and Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition for "free" this month. Thanks to the backward compatibility of the PS5, both PS4 games can also be played on the new Sony console.

Sony promises that almost all of the more than 4,000 available PS4 games can be played on the PlayStation 5. The list of unsupported games is short. You can play the PS Plus games permanently within an active membership. The annual subscription to PlayStation Plus costs around 60 euros. A PS Plus Collection with 20 PS4 games will also be available for download at the launch of the PS5. A big game sale is currently running on PSN.
