At the beginning of the month EA Motive released Star Wars: Squadrons, a game from the popular sci-fi universe. And now the next project seems to be in development. Once again, the team is using the Star Wars license, which the publisher Electronic Arts will have until 2023. In a vacancy EA Motive is currently looking for a build programmer who wants to work on an "upcoming Star Wars action game". In addition, it is probably a completely new IP. Further information is not yet known. Shortly after the release of Star Wars: Squadrons, Patrick Klaus from EA Motive revealed that several projects were already in development. At the time, however, the general manager did not want to go into detail. Now it is at least certain that one of these games will revolve around Star Wars again. For the release of Star Wars: Squadrons, we also took a detailed look at the successful flight game in our test. EA Motive recently emphasized several times that the development of Star Wars: Squadrons is complete and no further content should be expected. A small update was released for the start of the second season of The Mandalorian, but things like new game modes or starfighters will most likely not be available. An upgrade for PS5 and Xbox Series X / S has already been ruled out. Here fans will have to fall back on the backward compatibility of the next-gen consoles to be released soon. Electronic Arts
