Although the first episode of the third season of Star Trek: Discovery has just started on Netflix, there is already the official announcement for another chapter. The shooting for season 4 should start as early as November. Pre-production started some time ago.

In the Star Trek universe, things happen in quick succession. On last Friday, October 16, the celebrated first episode of the third season of Star Trek: Discovery premiered on the streaming platform Netflix. If you ask the author of these lines: After Star Trek, that felt – again – only to a limited extent. The 51 minutes were definitely entertaining, and I'm excited to see what the authors will get out of the exciting starting situation.

But no matter if you felt the same way or if the premiere episode disappointed you: We will definitely get a fourth season of Star Trek: Discovery. This was confirmed by those responsible at CBS All Access (via Dark Horizons) already on Friday. Shooting should even start on November 2nd.

This is possible because the preproduction (work on the scripts, set planning, organization of the locations) started some time ago. Alex Kurtzman and Michelle Paradise should continue to set the direction of the series as showrunners.
