Star Trek: Picard – New Captain of the USS Enterprise in the Prequel Comics
Even before Star Trek's series launch: Picard will have a three-part prequel comic that will reveal more story details. The focus is on the time between The Next Generation and the upcoming episodes. Among other things, we also learn who is the new captain of the USS Enterprise.
In January 2020, actor Patrick Stewart will return to Star Trek: Picard in his role as Jean-Luc Picard. In Germany, the first season can be viewed as starting at Amazon Prime Video. There will also be a prequel comic in the run-up to the events between Star Trek: The Next Generation and upcoming episodes of Star Trek: Picard.
The three-part comic will be released under the name "Star Trek: Picard – Countdown" and will play two years before the series, scheduled in 2399. But also some details from the time before will be revealed in the new comic. Including what Admiral Picard did in 2385. On Twitter, the creators of the series have already shared the suit of Jean-Luc Picard with the fans.
In the comic there is also information about the new captain of the USS Enterprise. If you want to see the new series without any spoilers, you should skip the next lines of this message. For the upcoming Picard rescue mission, the former captain re-establishes contact with Commander Geordi La Forge, who is now commander of the Utopia Planitia. When contacted, we learn that Jean-Luc Picard is now captain of USS Verity NCC-97000. On the bridge of the famous USS Enterprise is now Data, whose emotion chip could be rescued to Nemesis and then transplanted into a new body.
