Star Trek: Picard – Popular actor could return

from Andreas Bertits
The second season of the Star Trek: Picard series is currently in preparation and we might see a popular actor again.

When filming Season 2 of Star Trek: Picard cannot start due to the corona crisis. But there is now an indication of a possible appearance by a certain actor.

Attention! Spoilers follow here!

At the end of the first season of Star Trek: Picard, we had to say goodbye to Lt. Take Commander Data. The android finally wanted to die, which Picard granted him. Actor Brent Spiner stated that Data will not return. He wanted to bring the character a worthy ending and also does not believe that the audience will still take it away from him to play the android who cannot age.

But now there is evidence that Brent Spiner is appearing again in Season 2 of Star Trek: Picard. However, not as data, but apparently in the role of Dr. Altan Inigo Soong, the son of Noonian Soong, who created Data.

Producer Akiva Goldsman explains: "I think you still want a soong. I think we wanted to take advantage of the possibility of more Brent and we knew we were going to let go of Data. We all knew that this Soong character was related to the Season was in our head canon anyway. But we want more Brent and we wanted to create a platform for which there could be more Brent in future seasons. "

That means that basically with a return of Dr. Altan Inigo Soong is planned. Apparently we get to see more of him. And who knows, maybe there is more to the story of the character after all. Because fans already speculated that Dr. Altan Inigo Soong may actually be Data's brother Lore, who has aged his exterior. The possibility of this twist is still there. But whether that happens is unclear. But it looks like we can look forward to more Brent Spiner for the future of Star Trek: Picard.
