Several months after the release of Star Wars: Episode 9, the cameo of bounty hunter Dengar – known from The Empire Strikes Back – is now being discussed. A somewhat older tweet has gone viral in the past few days. The bounty hunter by Darth Vader from episode 5 has changed visually, however. Here too we now know what happened.
Fans have seen numerous cameos in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Now fans have discovered another guest appearance that previously received little attention. This is Dengar – a bounty hunter by Darth Vader that was introduced in episode 5 many years ago. However, Dengar returned with a new look in Episode 9. According to his background story, the bounty hunter conducted numerous experiments on himself to increase his life expectancy. You can find Dengar's transformation here in the tweet.
Why Dengar returned in Episode 9 of all times remains unclear. His character doesn't matter in the course of the film. Perhaps we will learn more about the history of Dengar in a future Disney work. Episode 9 brought the Skywalker saga to an end in the cinema. By the way, since this week the film can also be viewed at Disney +. It was also recently announced that Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok) will be the director of a new Star Wars film. However, there is no date yet.
In addition to Taika Waititi, Krysty Wilson-Cairns, who was last responsible for 1917, will also work on the script. According to current plans, Disney will release the next film in the sci-fi series in cinemas in December 2022. Episode 9 was able to raise over $ 1 billion. Compared to the results of the other two films in the new trilogy, however, Part 9 brought the least profit.
