Anyone who has dealt even a little with the video game indie scene is dead Stardew Valley not got around. The life simulation has cast a spell over countless players everywhere over the years with its relaxing gameplay and charming characters.
Stardew Valley (buy now 36.14 €) but is also such a house number because, despite its success, the game comes from just one person: Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone. He was now presenting his next project, which fans have certainly been waiting longingly for. It will be called ConcernedApe’s Haunted Chocolatier and the first gameplay including FAQ is already available.
That’s what ConcernedApe’s Haunted Chocolatier is all about
As Barone writes on the website specially created for the game, ConcernedApe’s Haunted Chocolatier is a mixture of role-playing game and simulation that is currently in development: “In this game you will play as a chocolatier who lives in a haunted castle. To fulfill your new role, you have to collect ingredients, make delicious chocolate and sell them in your shop.” As Barone makes clear, the game will be about more “but it’s still too early in development”, that’s why he doesn’t want to reveal any more at the moment.
As with Stardew Valley, Barone is once again the sole creator, programmer and creative mind behind Haunted Chocolatier. In his FAQ he writes that he first wants to get help with localization and the console ports. He would also like to publish his new work himself. Stardew Valley was published by the publisher ChuckleFish.
Differences and Similarities to Stardew Valley
When asked if Haunted Chocolatier will resemble Stardew Valley, Barone replies: “In some ways yes, but in many ways no. Like Stardew Valley, Haunted Chocolatier is another city game where you move to a new city and try a new way of life. You will get to know the residents, achieve your goals and Progress in many ways. All of this is similar to Stardew Valley. “
But there are also some differences: “The core gameplay and theme are quite different though. Haunted Chocolatier is more of an action RPG compared to Stardew Valley. And instead of the farm being the focus of your efforts, this is about your chocolate business.”
The trailer embedded above also gives the feeling that Haunted Chocolatier Stardew Valle is similar, but also goes its own way. The focus is much more on fighting and collecting ingredients, but the relationships with the different characters shouldn’t be neglected. The style and soundtrack should also pick up Stardew Valley fans immediately.
