At the beginning of the new week we will of course take a look at the current Steam sales charts as usual. There is a little surprise to report there, because the role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077 is no longer at the top after several weeks. There is now the survival game Rust, which has gained enormous popularity in the recent past, mainly due to a few larger streamers. Cyberpunk 2077 has slipped to third place – and thus directly behind the VR glasses Valve Index.
For the rest of the top 10, there are mainly a few shifts to report. The horror game Phasmophobia was able to climb a few ranks and is now in fifth place. The pirate MMO Sea of Thieves, however, has ended its brief soaring and tumbled a little down. The western action game Red Dead Redemption 2 forms the end of the current Top 10 of the Steam sales charts.
Fittingly: These were the 2020 bestsellers on Steam
Incidentally, the amount of sales achieved is decisive for the placement of the individual games in the Steam sales charts. The charts are weekly in one XML feed on Steam issued. The following charts relate to the period from 5th to 10th January 2021. Here is the overview:
- Valve Index VR Kit
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Sea of Thieves
- Counter-Strike: Global Offensive – Operation Broken Fang
- Grand Theft Auto 5
- Red Dead Redemption 2
