Microsoft is improving its gaming platform with a new feature that makes next-gen gaming possible for the entire Xbox family. However, this function is currently only available to a few selected Xbox players.
Xbox continues to work on its own cloud gaming service – thanks to the function, gamers can now Play games for the Xbox Series X | S with an Xbox One. After the feature was announced a few weeks ago, players can now benefit from it – but only for selected Xbox insiders for the time being.
Xbox: Cloud gaming brings next-gen to older consoles
The cloud gaming feature for the Xbox One enables players to play exclusive next-gen highlights on the older generation of consoles, by streaming them to the console. This means that the latest games can also run in the best quality on the last-gen devices – at least if the Internet connection works. (Source: Xbox)
For starters, however, Microsoft leaves the new feature only try from Xbox Alpha Skip-Ahead Insiders. The company had already used such a staggered test phase in previous cloud gaming projects, such as streaming the Game Pass library on laptops and PCs.
