Capcom has theirs Financial report for the first quarter of their new fiscal year disclosed. This started on April 1st and ended on June 30th. The company continues to have impressive commercial successes, largely due to the strong new titles that have recently been released.

The company reports a growth of 104.1% in net sales and 120.4% in operating income compared to last year. During the fiscal quarter, Capcom sold a total of 13.3 million units of video games, an increase of 44.6% compared to the first quarter of the last fiscal year.

According to Capcom, they have never had such high net sales and operating income in any other first quarter of a fiscal year as this one. The primary drivers behind this are Resident Evil Village and Monster Hunter Rise sales. At the last count, 4.5 million units of Resident Evil Village were delivered to the trade, at Monster Hunter Rise there are already over seven million.

Resident Evil Village is currently available for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, as well as Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC. Monster Hunter Rise is currently still available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch, but should also be released for the PC next year.
