A few days ago, the domain was registered for a game around the DC Comic Suicide Squad. An announcement could be forthcoming.
On August 22, at least one new game from WB Games will be presented during the DC FanDome event. Now there is a hint that we are with Suicide Squad may count.
Coming Suicide Squad as a game?
The domain suicidesquadgame.com was registered a few days ago. A website for a game about Suicide Squad seems to go online soon (buy now) turns. There has been speculation about such a game for some time, but it has not yet been officially announced. The developer studio Warner Bros. Montréal was supposed to take care of the title. But then there were rumors that the title had been discontinued. It was later said that Rocksteady was working on a game for Suicide Squad. It may well be that Rocksteady took over the game from Warner Bros. Montréal or that development started again.
Because further rumors claim that Warner Bros. Montreal is now working on a soft reboot of the Batman Arkham series.
According to alleged insiders, the Suicide Squad game is said to be a Games-as-a-Service title. Co-op gameplay is obviously in the foreground. A comparison with Destiny 2 and Warframe comes to mind. Since two games for the DC Comics are apparently in progress, it would only make sense if the two were clearly different from each other. So Batman could go more in the direction of a single-player action adventure and Suicide Squad could become a multiplayer title.
On August 22nd, we could learn more about Suicide Squad and / or the new Batman game. Then we know what the rumors are, which games are presented and what exactly awaits us in them.
