Already in the second episode of the second season of Star Wars: The Mandalorian, "Baby Yoda" gambled away its sympathies with the audience.

Danger! Here are spoilers!

In Chapter 10 of the Star Wars: The Mandalorian series, Din Djarin had to bring an alien woman to her husband. In her luggage she had a canister full of eggs, her offspring. Now we already know from the first season of the series that the child – affectionately called "Baby Yoda" by fans – is very voracious. And so it happened, as it had to happen: The hungry little guy grabbed one egg after the other to eat. What should be "funny", however, pissed off some fans. Even film director Kevin Smith joined the discussion and said: "How do I explain to my child that the egg-eating baby Yoda is not cute, but that he is carrying out a genocide?"

There were discussions in the community. Viewers felt uncomfortable with the scenes. After all, the child ate the offspring of an intelligent living being. It was also said that her family line was on the verge of extinction, which is why it was so important to get the eggs intact to her husband. Suddenly it was said that Baby Yoda was disgusting and nasty. Now for some people he's not that cute anymore. Some even hoped that episode 3 would reveal that Baby Yoda hadn't even eaten the eggs, but protected them somehow – which wasn't the case. On the other hand, in episode 3 he was quite sociable when it came to the hatched brood and the – in spite of everything – cute guy was eaten by a sea monster just to be saved at the last moment – you could say karma.

The second season of Star Wars: The Mandalorian continues every Friday with a new episode on the streaming service Disney +. A third season is already in the works.
