Ubisoft publishes a statement on the DPS glitch in The Division 2. The developers want to suspend the accounts of the players who have used this glitch to gain an unfair advantage in the online shooter. "The use of this exploit negatively impacted the in-game economy and in-game leaderboards, was very harmful in PvP, and negatively impacted the gaming experience for many," the developers said. In addition, affected accounts will be reset to a game status from March 17th.
"We were recently alerted to a bug that could be exploited and allowed players to increase their damage to an unintentionally high number," Massive Entertainment wrote in The Division 2 forum – and thus takes a position on the DPS glitch in the first person shooter. In accordance with the code of conduct, the developers suspend the accounts of the players who have used the glitch to gain an unfair advantage in the game.
The developers continued: "The use of this exploit negatively impacted the in-game economy and in-game leaderboards, was very harmful in PvP, and negatively impacted the gaming experience for many." The accounts of players who did not take advantage of the glitch seem to have been wrongly blocked, as has grown to more than 1,000 comments Reddit thread can be removed.
Players who use the DPS glitch in The Division 2 (buy now) should be excluded from the game for a week. The accounts of sanctioned players are also to be flagged. A renewed violation threatens a permanent ban. "In addition, sanctioned player accounts will be reset to March 17, which will result in all progress made during that time being reset," the developers conclude.
Ubisoft tried to create the DPS Glitch with updates from The Division 2 game world. First of all, it was possible, for example, to stand at a mini-gun with an equipped shield around the Increase weapon damage. After a patch released on March 20, a modified method worked. Two more fixes followed until March 27 to fix the DPS glitch. On Reddit, however, players report that there are apparently new ways to exploit the game error.
