The first trailer shows the new Batman in action

from Matthias Brückle
At DC Fandome, fans finally got what they wanted: scenes from Matt Reeves' upcoming film The Batman. In it, we were not only allowed to examine Robert Pattinson as the dark avenger, but also opponents like The Riddler and Catwoman.

During the DC Fandome there was a lot of new information and videos about the projects of Warner Bros and DC. One of the absolute highlights was of course the first teaser trailer for The Batman – the first real solo film about the bat man since The Dark Knight Rises! And the scenes shown are absolutely impressive, accompanied by nirvanas melancholy song Something In The Way:

Gordon, Catwoman, Riddler, Penguin and Batman – all there

The film is said to be loose on the comic The Long Halloween orientate yourself and accordingly focus on the investigation and detective work of Batman, which put him on a number of different villains. Also there is Selina Kyle aka Catwoman, with whom Batman already has an argument in the trailer. But Colin Farrell is hardly recognizable as a penguin! Although the figure does without a monocle and cylinder, it can be recognized by its distinctive nose. It is hard to believe that this includes heartthrob Colin Farrell.

The main villain of the film seems to be the Riddler to be more terrifying than ever before. Played by Paul Dano, the puzzle master seems to be more of a psychotic serial killer like the Zodiac Killer or Jigsaw, who terrifies Gotham. But he also relies – as it should be – on nasty puzzles.

An insane killer with a serial killer vibe – Paul Dano as Riddler in The Batman. We have come a long way since Jim Carrey's slapstick riddler!

Robert Pattinson lets his fists fly

Some people may still have had doubts whether Pattinson would fit the role of the dark avenger, but at the latest when Batman pushed a henchman with a magnificent combo (without cuts!) And "I am Vengeance" ("I am revenge") growls , it becomes clear that the pointy ears are on the right head. Pattinson was trained by Rigan Machado – the same trainer who helped Keanu Reeves for the role of John Wick.

Director Matt Reeves also pointed out at DC Fandome that this is a young Batman in his sophomore year as a villain hunter. As such, it is more of a dark legend that not only frightens criminals, but also the people of Gotham. It is far from being the symbol of hope for a troubled city.
