The criticism of The Last of Us 2 has been enormous and yet the game has even overtaken major titles like God of War and Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
The Last of Us 2: But more popular than you thought?
The Last of Us 2 has been a big controversy for the past few weeks. This is due to a few scenes that were far from well received by the players. The result was bad reviews and a shit storm at its best.
Accordingly, the game is far behind in the global ranking behind games like Marvel's Spider-Man and God of War, but The Last of Us 2 beat them in one key element.
There are many Easter eggs hidden. Have you already discovered them all?
The Last of Us 2: A Compelling Story
You can unlock achievements by completing games on the PlayStation 4. These not only prove your successful progress in the game, trophies also provide information about the percentage of players who unlock these achievements.
A recent screenshot of Gamerant causes more than half of the players actually completed The Last of Us 2 – 58% to be precise.
That percentage is much higher than other popular PS4 games, with the next highest completion rates on Final Fantasy 7 Remake and God of War being 53.3% and 51.8%, respectively.
While this game already has the highest completion rate, that doesn't necessarily mean it will stay at 58%. To complete The Last of Us 2, it takes about 20 to 40 hours, that is, some players may still be in the middle of the story.
Despite the controversy and reviews surrounding the game, The Last of Us 2 obviously has a compelling story to offer.
