Five months after the release of The Last of Us Part 2, composer Gustavo Santaolalla could already have hinted at the next part in the series. On Twitter, the composer was delighted about the nomination of the soundtrack for The Last of Us Part 2 at The Game Awards. After Santaolalla thanked Neil Druckmann and Naughty Dog for their collaboration, the words "It's just the beginning" aroused their curiosity.
The composer, who was also responsible for the music in the first part, has the prospect of further projects in the universe of The Last of Us. Even before Part 2 was released, Game Director Neil Druckmann spoke about the future of the studio in an interview. Here, too, it has already been indicated that Naughty Dog will either start developing The Last of Us Part 3 or is now working on a completely new IP. More on the topic was not revealed.
It is also possible that Gustavo Santaolalla wanted to indicate his upcoming collaboration on the series of The Last of Us, which was given the green light by HBO a few days ago. The composer was confirmed for the project in March. Details about the cast of the show are not yet known. Neil Druckmann will be involved as a producer on the series. The Last of Us Part 2 (buy now € 53.59 ) can look forward to ten nominations at The Game Awards – no other game has been nominated more often this year. For a long time there have been rumors about a multiplayer mode.
