According to Disney, we will see "The Book of Boba Fett" in December 2021. While it wasn't yet clear what it was, the company's Twitter account has now confirmed that a new series about The Bounty Hunter is waiting for us, set around the same time as Star Wars: The Mandalorian.
Will Season 3 of Star Wars: The Mandalorian not come until 2022?
Jon Favreau stated that "The Book of Boba Fett" is currently in production and that Seasons 3 of Star Wars: The Mandalorian will start shortly after the new series. But if the series around Boba Fett is only shown in December 2021, this would mean that the third season of Mandalorian will not start until 2022. In November, however, there was a hint from Disney itself that Season 3 will still be shown in 2021. The time frame could of course have changed now. The fact is, "The Book of Boba Fett" is slated to start before season 3 of The Mandalorian. However, that also means that the Boba Fett series won't be the third season of Mandalorian, which some fans had already suspected or feared. There are two separate series.
In the new series we will again see Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett and Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand. Jon Favreau produces "The Book of Boba Fett" with Dave Filoni and Robert Rodriguez. What exactly the story will be about is still unclear. At the moment, we also don't know whether a mini-series with a few episodes or a larger one with several seasons awaits us. Still, the series could get very exciting after the events of Season 2 of The Mandalorian.
