The final episode of the second season of Star Wars: The Mandalorian airs on Disney + starting today. And in this one appears a special character.
Attention! Here are spoilers!
After the little Grogu joined forces on the planet Tython to attract the attention of a Jedi Knight and he was kidnapped by the sinister Moff Gideon for his experiments, the Mandalorians Din Djarin and Boba Fett set out with the help of Bo -Katan and Koska Reeves to get the little "Baby Yoda" back. They sneak aboard Gideon's ship for a showdown.
In this the group receives unexpected support. A Jedi Knight actually sensed Grogu and went in search of him. With his X-Wing he reaches Gideon's ship and fights his way through the ranks of the dark troops with his green lightsaber. When he meets Din Djarin and the others, he takes off his hood: It's Luke Skywalker. Luke takes Grogu with him, which leads to a touching goodbye between the little green guy and Din Djarin.
Luke Skywalker is portrayed in the episode by a body double who was given the face of a young Mark Hamill via CGI. Hamill even dubbed Luke in the English original. However, the effects are not quite as convincing as they should be. Nevertheless, it is a feast for fans to see Luke in action after he was rather reserved in the sequel trilogy.
The episode does raise a few questions, however:
- Was this really the last time Grogu and Din Djarin saw each other?
- Will Luke show up again?
- Where is Grogu at the time of the sequel trilogy? Did Kylo Ren kill little baby Yoda?
The third season of Star Wars: The Mandalorian is currently being produced, which we should see in 2021. Then some questions will definitely be answered.
