The development studio inXile announced that they are working on two new role-playing games. One of them is just at the very beginning in development.
What comes after Wasteland 3? The development studio inXile remains true to its roots and is currently working on further role-playing games.
Two new RPGs from the Wasteland developers
When a player congratulated inXile boss Brian Fargo on Wasteland 3 and told him that it was exactly the game the fans had been waiting for, Fargo even replied. He explained that his studio was working on wonderful RGs and that it was a shame they were taking so long to develop.
Then it became even more precise. The second RPG, which is currently in the works, should still be at the very beginning of the pre-production phase. So we know that there are currently two role-playing games in development. One of them even seems to be more advanced. This could be the project that is being created with Unreal Engine 5.
What the two games are about is not clear. It is entirely possible that the second RPG could be Wasteland 4. After all, the series should definitely be continued. A Bards' Tale 5 is also conceivable. However, Part 4 didn't go down as well as hoped. And also a sequel to Torment: Tides of Numenera seems unlikely. Since both Bethesda and inXile are now owned by Microsoft, it might even be possible to link Fallout and Wasteland together …
Perhaps inXile will start a new brand with one of the RPGs. We'll have to wait a little longer before we learn more about these projects. Perhaps Microsoft will reveal more about one of the games at the next E3. At the moment, the fans of the development studio inXile are still busy with the epic end-time RPG Wasteland 3.
We give all readers daily free news, articles, guides, videos and podcasts on their favorite games. So far we have financed this site through advertising and kept it as free of clickbaits or paid items as possible, but since COVID-19 this has become increasingly difficult. Many companies are cutting or cutting their advertising budgets for 2020. Budgets that we unfortunately have to rely on if we want to continue to offer PC games free of charge as usual in the future.
For this reason we turn to you now. You can support us as a PC Games supporter so that we can continue to offer our content in the usual form free of charge without introducing a paywall or publishing clickbait news like "And you won't believe what happened next …" .
