The author Andrzej Sapkowski recently made a public statement about The Witcher's recently launched Netflix series. Above all, he had a lot of praise for the actor Henry Cavill, who famously embodies the protagonist Geralt von Riva.
Almost two weeks after the launch of the new Netflix series The Witcher, the author Andrzej Sapkowski has now spoken out. He wrote the eight-part novel series on which the streaming series is based. In an interview with People Magazine, he was very impressed by the episodes and the implementation of his novel. He was particularly impressed by actor Henry Cavill, who, as is well known, embodies the protagonist Geralt von Riva – the real sorcerer.
"I was more than happy about Henry Cavill's appearance as a Witcher. He is a real professional. Just as Viggo Mortensen gave his face to Aragorn (from Lord of the Rings), Henry lends his Geralt – and it should be like this forever . "

In the interview, Andrzej Sapkowski also stated that he was hardly involved in the production of The Witcher's Netflix series. He seldom interfered or gave advice because he believed in artistic freedom. It was also not his intention to impose his views of The Witcher on the production team.
The streaming provider Neftlix also seems to be very convinced of The Witcher's success. Even before the start on December 20, 2019, there was the green light for a second season. In Season 2, the focus should be more on the story than was previously the case. By the way, if it was up to the show runner Lauren S. Hissrich, it wouldn't be over afterwards, since she says she even has ideas for up to 20 seasons in her head.
