A month before the launch, Netflix gave another look at The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. In the trailer, fans can now see new scenes from the animated film for the popular series. A few days ago, as part of the WitcherCon, there was already a “first look” on the upcoming prequel to the successful Netflix series, in which Henry Cavill plays the lead role of Geralt von Rivia. However, the animated film will focus on Vesemir, who is known as the witcher’s mentor.
It is not yet known whether there will be a meeting with Geralt in the course of the story. But fans don’t have to wait too long for The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf to start on Netflix. The film can already be viewed by all subscribers to the streaming platform on August 23, 2021. Lauren S. Hissrich, who is already involved in the universe as the showrunner of the Witcher series, is responsible for the script of the prequel. She received support from the author Beau DeMayo.
For the animations, Netflix hired the team from Studio Mir, who in the past produced the animated series “The Legend of Korra”, for example. Witcher fans can also look forward to the second season of the Netflix show with Henry Cavill later this year. The start is currently planned for December 17, 2021. Freya Allan as Ciri and Anya Chalotra as Yennefer will also return. A trailer was also unveiled here during the WitcherCon.
