The PS5 will be released in Germany on November 19th. The new console from Sony can in future not only be used for your PS5 titles, but also for your PS4 games thanks to backward compatibility. In some cases, there has recently been minor confusion, especially with cross-gen games. Accordingly, users accidentally played the PS4 version of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on their PS5 – without really noticing.
However, there is a way to quickly and easily find out which version is currently in use. Here users only have to go to the main menu of the PS5 (buy now ) go to the game of your choice and open the options. There you will then find a selection where you can specify the version. Make sure that the tick has been set for the PS5 implementation. In the Reddit forum for the PS5, a short video has now been uploaded that shows this process in detail.
Here and there it happens that the best version is not selected automatically. So if you want to be on the safe side, take another look at the options before starting the game. Even titles like Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Spider-Man: Miles Morales or Watch Dogs Legion should not always start the PS5 version directly. Last week the PS5 was already released in other regions. The console will also be available in Europe from November 19th. You can find out everything about the PS5 in our detailed test.
