Last September, CD Projekt Red announced that they were working on a next-gen version of The Witcher 3 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S. The new version should offer faster loading times, be equipped with ray tracing and contain all additional content of the original game. The developers are also working with fans and modders to bring some popular mod improvements right into their game.
But the next-gen upgrade is not just an improved, prettier version of the original from 2015. CD Projekt Red will also release a new, free DLC based on the Netflix series by The Witcher. Many players have been hoping for some new content for the game since the series was released in 2019, and the developers are now granting them that wish. The developers have not yet revealed exactly what the new content will look like. Maybe we’ll see a musical with the song “Toss a Coin To Your Witcher” in the game. It is unlikely, but it is well known that hope dies last.
In 2015 CD Projekt Red released a large number of free DLCs, which among other things brought new quests and cosmetic content. So there will probably be some similar content to come with the Netflix DLC. More information about the new DLC should follow soon.
We received more information about the Witcher universe, among other things, with the release date of the second season of the extremely popular Netflix series. This should start on December 17th of this year. The Witcher franchise will also include a new mobile game and a board game, which is currently funded via Kickstarter, expanded. An animated Witcher film is also in the works.
