Had on March 13, 2021 the streamer Ludwig Ahgren – also known simply as “Ludwig” – made the decision to start a streaming marathon. It is not yet known whether he already suspected at that time what consequences this action would have for him. In any case, what is certain is that he not only attracted the attention of numerous spectators, but was also able to set a new record at the same time.
At the start of the marathon event, Ahgren was able to show a total of 1,730 subscriptions. In the course of the action, this number climbed continuously – at first slowly, but then faster and faster. As early as April 1, 2021, the counter was just over 160,000 subscriptions, three days later it was more than 183,000. On the final day of the marathon there were even more than 282,000 subscriptions. This is not only a respectable number in itself, but also represents a new record. The previous record in this category on Twitch was held by streaming star Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, who has made a name for himself primarily through his activities in the battle royale shooter Fortnite.
Logically, Ludwig Ahgren was no longer very active during the 31-day marathon. The streamer always tried to stay awake as long as possible. But he also took a few breaks so that the audience could watch him sleep. At the end of the campaign, the streamer was exhausted and relieved to have brought the campaign to a close. Did you follow the marathon too?
