Ubisoft reportedly requests domain for Prince of Persia 6

from André Linken
We may soon be releasing or at least announcing a new episode of Prince of Persia. The publisher Ubisoft has reportedly requested registration for the domain princeofpersia6.com. But it is probably a fake.

Update from 1:30 p.m .: In the meantime it has turned out that this is probably a fake. The registrar for the domain is godaddy instead of Gandi SAS, who normally register domains for Ubisoft. In addition, the status is currently on "ClientHold", which indicates an outstanding payment.

Original message: Are we expecting the comeback of the action adventure series Prince of Persia soon? At least that is what Ubisoft's recent activity suggests. As can be seen from the reports of some users at Reddit.com, the publisher recently submitted an application to register the domain princeofpersia6.com. According to the corresponding entry, this happened on May 4, 2020 – yesterday Monday.

This could suggest that a new episode of Prince of Persia is already under development under the banner of Ubisoft, for which the publisher wanted to secure a suitable domain for the website. That would not be too surprising: In the past, Ubisoft had repeatedly expressed interest in the Prince of Persia brand. However, it was probably not the right time to start a comeback of the series. That could have changed in the meantime.
