The team behind the half-life remake Black Mesa has released a new update for the shooter that brings the new Xen sections into the main game. This means that the full version of the new edition can now be played on Steam. The plans for version 1.0 have also been presented. Fans don't have to wait long for the release.
For several months, players of the half-life remake Black Mesa have had the opportunity in an open beta to try out the new Xen sections of the shooter. After a lot of feedback, the Crowbar Collective development team has just released a new update for the game that brings the Xen level to the full version of Black Mesa. The new edition can now be played completely on Steam. A change to the beta version of the title is no longer necessary.
According to the developers, Black Mesa is still in the early access phase. The team would like to further improve the game in the coming weeks before they celebrate the official release of the Half-Life remake with version 1.0. In line with this, the creators have already published a roadmap of what things should be brought into play with the next update. Instead of new functions, the focus is on general improvements for multiplayer or AI. But the Steam workshop is also to be integrated into the new edition soon.
The patch notes for the new one Update from Black Mesa can be found in the current post on Steam. Thanks to the current winter campaign, the shooter can even be purchased 20 percent cheaper for 14.39 euros. We also had a first look at the Xen sections of Black Mesa some time ago and talked about the improvements over the original Valve from 1998.
