Blizzard's strategy remaster Warcraft 3: Reforged was unable to meet player expectations. Were they just too high? This is indicated by a statement by Blizzard boss J. Allen Brack during a conference call with investors.
Blizzard boss J. Allen Brack said in a conference call with investors that players would expect "amazing things" from the company, which Warcraft 3: Reforged just couldn't meet.
Do players have to lower their expectations?
"Our community really expected amazing things from us and we heard from them that we hadn't reached that bar," said Brack. It also says that you would stand behind the games. Does this mean that the players simply had too high expectations for Warcraft 3: Reforged and were therefore disappointed with the end product? The statement seems a bit strange. After all, Blizzard itself showed the new cutscenes from Warcraft 3: Reforged at BlizzCon 2018 and thus set the bar quite high. Now should it be the players who expected too much?
Blizzard just hasn't got a knack for new games and dealing with the community lately. Will that change with Diablo Immortal and Diablo 4?
