Those responsible at Warner Bros. have had to make changes to the two theatrical releases of Mortal Kombat and Godzilla vs. Kong again. Instead of a new date, the publication of the films in Germany has now been canceled without replacement. The increasing number of cases in the last few days make nationwide opening of cinemas very unlikely anytime soon. It remains unclear whether the films will even be shown in theaters with us.

The start of Godzilla vs. Kong was actually planned for March 25, 2021. Mortal Kombat would then have followed two weeks later (April 8, 2021). In the US, the films will also be available on HBO Max exactly one week after their international theatrical release. Even if the streaming service is not offered in Germany, the cooperation with Sky could ensure an early home theater release. However, this has not yet been confirmed. Wonder Woman 1984 could also be viewed in this country via this route. Zack Snyder's Justice League will also start on Sky shortly. We will keep you up to date if there is any news about the date.

At the end of last year, those responsible at Warner Bros. confirmed that all of the company's films will also be released on HBO Max in 2021. The other highlights of the year include Space Jam: A New Legacy, The Suicide Squad, Dune or The Matrix 4. Depending on the pandemic, fans in Germany can also hope for an early home theater release here – if the cinemas remain closed.
