Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness won't be released in cinemas as planned. There is no script and the director got out. The production of the strip starts from scratch.
Director and screenwriter Scott Derrickson said he did Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness would only do if it becomes a film that is based on the horror elements from the comics. Then there were supposedly creative differences and he and co-author C. Robert Cargill left the project.
Was the movie too scary?
Now C. Robert Cargill explained that he and Scott Derrickson had no opportunity to write a screenplay for the film. This suggests that the idea of making a Marvel film with horror elements didn't go down well. Now Sam Raimi is supposed to take the helm and shoot the film based on a new script to be written by Michael Waldron, who also wrote the episodes for Marvel's Disney + series "Loki".
It seems a bit strange, however, that Sam Raimi (The Evil Dead, Drag me to Hell) now wants to bring a horror expert on board, but the film actually has to be family-friendly. How that fits together and what now from Doctor Strange (buy now for € 9.99) We'll see in The Multiverse Of Madness.
