The Wastelanders update has started for Bethesda's online role-playing game Fallout 76, along with the Steam version. And there is already a review bombing on Steam.
Fallout 76 introduced the NPCs and wants to use the Wastelanders update to get closer to the gaming experience that fans of the post-apocalyptic RPG series from Fallout 3 and 4 and Fallout: New Vegas know. But the steam version launched at the same time is already a victim of review bombing.
Criticism even after around 1.5 years
A rating of only 34 percent and "mostly negative" at the time of this news actually speaks volumes. Fallout 76 (buy now) has not lost its bad image and frustrated players are now free to express their displeasure with the online game via Steam. The negative criticism is not limited to technical problems when starting wastelanders such as extremely long loading times or login problems. Some players criticize the high price of the Steam version for "just a few new quests". Around 1.5 years after the release, some would have expected that Bethesda's online role-playing game on Steam would no longer cost 40 euros. Control is also criticized, as is performance. The game should not play smoothly, which may also be due to the rush of the players to the new version. Some also report bugs that cloud the gaming experience.
Others say that Wastelanders made Fallout 76 a much better game and that it now plays more like Fallout 4 online. It's just a multiplayer fallout. Wastelanders doesn't change that either. Anyone expecting a single player RPG will be disappointed. You just have to be clear about what Fallout 76 wants to offer: a multiplayer experience in the Fallout world. And that's exactly what Wastelanders builds on.
