What do you farm Stygia for?

There was a question on Twitter these days Users to WoW: Shadowlandswhich can be summarized as follows: "Why do we actually farm Stygia?" And I can well understand the thought from which this question was born. I faced it for the tenth time after the tenth death of my undergone druid toon. I asked my dear colleagues and I thought a little more carefully about an answer to the question. And I came to the conclusion that there is no universal answer, just categorization according to player type. So why do certain players farm the stygia in the throat until they vomit? Sure, only to hit her on the head at Ve'nari's afterwards. But actually this is only interesting for certain groups of WoW heroes.

The Minmaxer

For the Minmaxers in Mythic-Content – dungeons as well as raids – it is clear why they drag their most valuable heroes into the gullet every day. The subject of general enchantment is called Apparatus for spatial realignment, costs thousands of Stygia and adds a slot to a Shadowlands item in the helmet, necklace, bracer, belt and ring category if it does not have one. Even behind the (a bit cheaper) Fragments of unbound reality are behind Minmaxers, through whose use an upgrade of a random medium is found from their media with the lowest item level. The problem with this is of course that the purchase of these items requires a certain reputation level with Ve'nari. In this respect, Minmaxers were extremely busy in their throats, especially in the first few weeks of Shadowlands.

The Torghast enthusiasts

Those who love playing Torghast will head to the gullet to catch some of Ve'nari's permanent Torghast enhancements. Among other things, that increases Ritual prism of divination the chance of epic animabons while the Enchanting charm magnifying glass provides discounts with the intermediaries. And the Badge of rank: Acquirer ensures that intermediaries in Torghast can offer you a rare option. The really big fans then also shop the same when they achieve an appreciative reputation at Ve'nari Possibility matrix, which ensures that you can always choose from at least two bonuses with every animation bonus choice. Sounds nice and makes sense if you want to invest a lot of time in Torghast. The same applies here: The purchase of the items not only requires all kinds of stygia, but also a corresponding reputation with Ve'nari. What does that mean? Off into the throat!

I just want to go home!

Before you have reached the appropriate reputation level with Ve'nari, you can put the stygia in helpful gullet items. The Sign of the unseen would also be worthwhile for a casual like me, so that I become immune to the mark of the jailer of the throat-bound assassins. These stupid assassins simply pissed me off several times, especially on my first Schlund adventures.

And as casual?

Well, if you neither want to supply items with sockets nor are you particularly keen on Torghast, then the Stygia farm really doesn't bring you anything. Logo, you go in for the gulp and torghast quests of Bolvar, but you're not laying down a real farm. In this respect, the gulp is little to not at all attractive for those of you who do not perfect the gear and do not want to play Torghast until the mouse buttons are tired. It's a shame actually. After all, the Maw is the endgame zone of Shadowlands and it should also offer something to the casuals. But there isn't much at the moment. On the other hand, that's good again. Because certainly not only I find the throat annoying.
