With the expansion Wastelanders, Fallout 76 has managed to get players excited about the online role-playing game again. The companions known from other Fallout parts are responsible for this. A very special fan favorite could soon make a comeback.
The most loyal companion of all (fallout) times: Dogmeat
Hardly any companion has struggled into Fallout fan hearts as much as the four-legged one Friend dogmeat. Since the Wastelanders expansion to Fallout 76, it has been possible to recruit companions for themselves. This option is good for many players and provides new variety.
But the community is longing for even more content, to be precise, for pets. In a question and answer session in Fallout 76 Sub-Reddit the community could now ask project manager Jeff Gardiner and senior designer Ferret Baudoin their burning questions about Wastelanders and upcoming content.
The user AzarianCouncil is interested in whether it soon also pets will give. Gardiner first jokes around and asks the counter question “Edible?”, But then says that after the introduction of the companion system, pets are also planned. Pets have been available in Fallout 4 since the Wasteland workshop expansion and are also used to protect your own settlement.
This would suggest that the popular four-legged dogmeat is good Chances of a comeback Has. After all, Dogmeat has been a loyal friend and companion of several brave wastelands in past parts like Fallout 4 or Fallout 3. And the fur nose also fits very well in the pet category. So a return is conceivable, and fans would surely be pleased.
Dogmeat has so far stubbornly made it into every part of the Fallout series, only the offshoot Fallout: New Vegas had to do without the four-legged friend.
