We'll probably have to wait a long time for the multiplayer part of the action RPG Cyberpunk 2077. CD Projekt Red first has to take care of bug fixes and improvements to the single player game and also wants to offer some DLCs. But at some point we will explore Night City together with friends. But what could the game's multiplayer look like?
Will Cyberpunk Online be similar to GTA 5's multiplayer?
Forbes speculates that we're getting some kind of GTA Online in the cyberpunk universe. This is indicated by the many outfits, vehicles and weapons that we can buy in the game or that we can earn. There are also attacks on many street corners, contract killings and smuggling missions. So basically we almost have something like GTA Online, only without players and with a story campaign.
If we leave out the story and add other players instead, we could see in our minds how the multiplayer part of Cyberpunk 2077 (buy now € 58.89 ) could happen: We explore Night City and the surrounding area online together with a certain number of players per server. If we take on missions from fixers, then we look for a crew of fellow players and do these jobs, which can sometimes be a bit more extensive and complex. PvP would also be possible. Several groups of players compete to be the first to bring the hot goods to the destination or to be the first to kill the target person. Car races against fellow players or shooting competitions would be possible. You can pay money for cool new clothes, weapon skins or new vehicles. Microtransactions would then play an important role.
We'll probably find out in early 2021 if this happens. Then CD Projekt Red will talk a little more precisely about the multiplayer part of Cyberpunk 2077.
We give all readers daily free news, articles, guides, videos and podcasts on their favorite games. So far we have financed this site through advertising and kept it as free of clickbaits or paid items as possible, but since COVID-19 this has become increasingly difficult. Many companies are cutting or cutting their advertising budgets for 2020. Budgets that we unfortunately have to rely on if we want to continue to offer PC games free of charge as usual in the future.
For this reason we turn to you now. As a PC Games supporter, you can support us so that we can continue to offer our content in the usual form for free without introducing a paywall or publishing clickbait news like "And you won't believe what happened next …" . Every contribution, large or small, is valuable.
