The Hack 'n Slay Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem started on Steam yesterday at around 6 p.m. on yesterday. The rush of players was so great that the servers could not withstand it.
The indie developer studio of the action RPG had such a rush Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem not counted. When the release version started at around 6 p.m. on February 13, over 62,000 games wanted to log on to the server simultaneously. This caused problems.
A problematic start
Players could not log in or suffered from massive lags and disconnections, some of which even reset the progress in the story. Fortunately, it is possible to play Wolcen offline, but many planned to start cooperatively with friends right from the start, which requires the online mode. You can play four in multiplayer.
The developers apologized and promised to fix the problems as soon as possible. But even today, logging in is still a game of chance. Even if you can do it, the connection may drop. In addition, some players report bugs such as invincible enemies or invisible walls in the game. However, these problems only appear from the second of three acts.
If you currently want to play Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem, you need patience. The developers are working on patches and also on server problems. It is advisable to play the Hack 'n Slay in offline mode for now. However, the start problems already affect the rating of the game on Steam, which has dropped significantly compared to the early access version.
Wolcen is currently only available for PC, the team can imagine a version for PS4 and Xbox One, but nothing is currently planned.
