Update from October 3, 2020:
After the recently announced postponement of the WoW Shadowlands publication there is now also a delay in the new art book "Exploring Azeroth: The Eastern Kingdoms". The new date of publication is now November 24th, 2020.

Even if there is no official statement about the reasons for the postponement of the release date, so presumed WoWHead about possible backgrounds. Perhaps the art book gives you an insight into the Shadowlands lore, which currently still falls under the "spoilers" category? We'll know more at the end of November.

Original message from February 11, 2020:
World of Warcraft (buy now 15.00 € ) looks back on an eventful history. 25 years ago, the Blizzard team laid the foundation for a unique game universe that continues to captivate countless players to this day. In addition to the legendary strategy game series, which later became one of the most popular MMOs, a lot of creative accessories such as books, comics and music were created.

World of Warcraft: Exploring Azeroth: The Eastern Kingdoms is one of those works of art expected to be released on 20th October 2020 will appear in book form. (Note that there is still no date for the German edition of this book!) The artbook has 168 pages and, according to the description, is richly illustrated. The accompanying story is provided by Blizzard's senior author Christie Golden. You can do the book already today on Amazon pre-order.

Not too much is known about the plot yet. However, the California-based game studio describes World of Warcraft: Exploring Azeroth: The Eastern Kingdoms as follows:

"For over a quarter of a century, Warcraft and World of Warcraft players have been rewarded with a treasure trove of artifacts, equipment, weapons and trinkets. Now players can take a detailed look at the items they have collected … and some of them they may not have looted yet. With exquisite art and a story featuring the cool Matthias Shaw and spirited Captain Flynn Fairwind, this book covers the continent of The Eastern Kingdoms, from Stormwind to Stranglethorn, from Plaguelands to Quel ' Thalas and all the countries in between. "

The alliance players will be the unequal pair Matthias Shaw and Captain Flynn from the war campaign and quest Treasury hunter in World of Warcraft. This art book will probably be the first in a long series, as the format can be easily transferred to other continents and even planets. Who knows, maybe Blizzard will let us travel to other, previously unknown planets through these illustrated books.
