Kalimdor follows the Eastern Kingdoms: The WoW developers have announced the continuation of the travel book through Azeroth with "Foray through Azeroth – Kalimdor". A release date has already been set, we will tell you the details in the message.
After Blizzard told the WoW lore outside of the online role-playing game almost exclusively about novels, comics, short stories and the chronicles for years, the developers have been breaking new ground for some time. The book Foray through Azeroth: The Eastern Kingdoms combined the advantages of an art book with a mixture of narration and explanations about the peculiarities of the eastern side of Azeroth.
Now comes the second volume of the forays, this time dealing with the continent of Kalimdor. Similar to its predecessor, "Foray through Azeroth: Kalimdor" will deal with flora and fauna as well as selected artefacts, this time on Kalimdor. Whether we will be able to roam through Azeroth with Finn Schönwind and Mathias Shaw again – as in the first volume – is still unknown. Blizzard has only released a preliminary cover and a short description of the volume (translation by us):
"In the second volume of Blizzard Entertainment's Lore book series, Foray through Azeroth, readers embark on a dangerous journey through the lush and lively expanses of Kalimdor to learn the secrets of the land. Leave no stone unturned when the WoW team reveals the history, impressions and breathtaking landscapes of well-known and popular as well as other long-forgotten places."
"Foray through Azeroth: Kalimdor" will be released in English on October 21, 2021. It remains to be seen when a German version will come onto the market. You can already pre-order the English version on Amazon for 16.59 euros.
We also assume that this second volume will not be the last in the Streifzug series. After all, there are still enough continents on Azeroth that are also suitable for this special mixture of art books, novels and non-fiction. Maybe next time it's going to Northrend?
