Blizzard's MMORPG World of Warcraft is still very popular, but has been around for a few years. You can see that in the game. As a result, fans keep posting videos to demonstrate what areas of the fantasy world Azeroth would look like with a modern engine.
Would you be one World of Warcraft with modern graphics? In which almost photo-realistic landscapes can be seen? If Blizzard doesn't announce something like that, then at least the fans show what such an MMORPG could look like.
WoW in the Unreal Engine 4
A video shows how the Hellfire Peninsula from the MMORPG World of Warcraft (buy now for 18.32 €) could look like if the Unreal Engine 4 were used. The video is quite short and only shows the landscape, which is very atmospheric. You get the feeling that the short scene could come from a CGI film about WoW.
The comic-style graphic style that Blizzard chose for World of Warcraft naturally has advantages. For one thing, you don't need a powerful PC to play. Many modern games that rely on the most realistic look often only run with really good hardware. On the other hand, the style is unmistakable and is still well received even after all the years since its release in 2004.
