This weekend, Xbox Live Gold members can once again try three games "for free". This time, the multiplayer shooter Hunt: Showdown and the pirate MMO Sea of Thieves are among the party. There is also a discount campaign in the Xbox Store at the same time.
Those of you who have an Xbox Live Gold Account and are in dire need of a game replenishment shouldn't do anything for this weekend. Microsoft has given the go-ahead for the next edition of the "Free Play Day", where you can try out several games "for free" – a total of three games. According to current plans, the event will run until September 21, 2020 at 8:59 a.m. German time – i.e. until Monday morning.

The current selection has something for different tastes. So you can jump into the battles of the multiplayer shooter Hunt: Showdown, among other things. The action game combines PvE and PvP elements to create a relatively unique feel. If this is a bit hectic for you, the pirate MMO Sea of Thieves might be for you. You slip into the role of a pirate, go on a treasure hunt, fight on the high seas and take on skeleton warriors and other creatures. It's much more martial in Hack & Slay Warhammer: Chaosbane to the point. Here you choose one of five character classes and cut your way through the troops of chaos.
In order to be able to participate in the "Free Play Days", however, you need a gold membership with Xbox Live or alternatively an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. If you particularly like one of these three games, you can benefit from a sale that takes place at the same time in the Xbox Store. There is currently a discount of up to 70 percent on all three titles. Here is the overview:
- Hunt: Showdown
- Warhammer: Chaosbane
- Sea of Thieves
