Imagine if the worlds of the turn-based tactical game XCOM and the Marvel universe merged into one game. Anyone who thinks this is just wishful thinking may soon have to be taught better. Because according to a current rumor, such a project is already in development.

At least that’s what a posting on says. There you can read that this project is currently being developed at the Firaxis Games development studio under the code name “CODA”. It is said to be a “turn-based action game with Marvel superheroes” in which “famous actors” lend the characters their voices. That sounds like the previously secret game is directly related to the Marvel films of the recent past and / or the near future. A little later, the well-known gaming journalist and insider Jason Schreier spoke up via Twitter and supported the rumor:

“Yes, this 2K leak is true, but I’m not sure if it will be seen at E3. I can hardly wait for the Marvel XCOM”.

Despite this prominent support, it’s just a rumor for now – nothing more and nothing less. Neither the publisher 2K Games nor the developer studio Firaxis Games have commented on this topic so far. In this case, however, it should be worthwhile to keep a close eye on this year’s E3. It cannot be ruled out that there will be a corresponding announcement during the event.
